Mirrored Definition Type

Definitions are used to group the same types of skills together where each skill will have the same type of information (dates, ratings, etc.) associated with each item that is recorded. One or more Definitions are grouped together in the broader collection that is a Category (see Configuring Categories).

The Definition Type determines how or from where the skills data is to be sourced and what options are available to users and administrators to maintain their own, or other peoples', skills.

Mirrored Definition Type

The Mirrored Definition Type should be used where administrators require to mirror skills data received from an external system or database.

Mirrored Definition Types are read-only and consume data received directly from the third party source and therefore cannot and will not expose edit options to allow the user to edit individual skills inline within the user profile page directly or navigate to a dedicated page which allows them to manage their skills for the definition as a whole.

However, Mirrored Definition Types may still be enabled to allow Evidence Documents to be attached and enabled for Endorsements.
